Faucets. A drip or a stiff handle is usually a worn cartridge, and if the faucet is a quality brand with parts still available, a repair makes sense. When the finish is pitted, the body is corroded underneath, or the manufacturer no longer makes the cartridge, a new faucet is the better spend. We can supply a quality faucet or install one you’ve already picked out.
Garbage disposals. A jam or a tripped reset button is a quick fix. A disposal that leaks from the bottom, or that trips its breaker repeatedly, has usually failed internally and should be replaced. We provide InSinkErator disposals, typically 1/2 horsepower, and a typical swap where we supply the unit runs $500 to $625 including the unit, labor, and the trip. Current code calls for the disposal to plug into an outlet under the sink rather than be hardwired; many Exton kitchens from the 1970s and 80s don’t have one, and we can add it as part of the job. On septic? You’ll want a septic-safe model with an enzyme injection cartridge, which we can supply.
Sinks. Cracked basins, rusted-through strainers, and remodels are the usual reasons for a new kitchen or bathroom sink. We handle the drain and supply connections, the trap, and the disposal or dishwasher hookups so everything under the cabinet is done at once.

At Golden Rule Plumbing, our name is our philosophy. We treat every Chester County homeowner the way we’d want to be treated, which means clear pricing, no membership fees, and no salesman pushing services you don’t need.
Ask us about pricing when you call. For most jobs we can give you a realistic range over the phone, and for many, a firm number from a photo or two. That kind of transparency is rare in the trades, and it’s what’s kept Chester County homeowners calling us since 2007.
A typical swap where we supply the unit runs $500 to $625, including an InSinkErator 1/2 horsepower disposal, labor, and the trip. If you already bought a disposal, you only pay for the installation. Adding an under-sink outlet or switching to a septic-safe model adds to that, and we’ll quote it before we start.
Yes. Plenty of our Exton customers pick out their own fixtures. Send us the model when you call so we can confirm it fits your sink and countertop cutout, and we’ll quote the installation.
Often it’s the valve seat, not the cartridge, or the house water pressure is too high and wearing parts out early. Pressure over 80 psi is common in parts of Exton on public water. If we see signs of it, we’ll check the pressure and talk through a pressure reducing valve if needed.
Under current code, yes. A disposal should plug into an outlet under the sink rather than be hardwired. If your kitchen doesn’t have one, we can install the outlet as part of the disposal job.
Yes, with the right unit. To be considered septic safe, the disposal needs an enzyme injection cartridge that treats the waste as it grinds, like InSinkErator’s Septic Assist models. A standard disposal on septic sends too many solids to the tank.
No. Estimates are free, and in most cases we can give you a price range over the phone before we schedule.
