Plugged in, not hardwired. Current code calls for a garbage disposal to plug into an outlet under the sink rather than be wired directly, so the unit can be unplugged safely before anyone reaches into it. Many older Chester County kitchens don’t have one. If yours doesn’t, we can add the under-sink outlet as part of the installation, so you don’t need to line up a second contractor.

On a septic system? A standard disposal sends more solids to the tank than it’s designed for. To be considered septic safe, the disposal needs to be a specific model with an enzyme injection cartridge, like InSinkErator’s Septic Assist line, which doses the waste with enzymes as it grinds so it breaks down in the tank instead of building up.
