More Than A Name...It's How We Do Business
Dripping faucet, a kitchen sink that won’t drain, or a garbage disposal that hums and quits? Golden Rule Plumbing handles faucet repair and replacement, kitchen and bathroom sink installation, and garbage disposal repair and replacement throughout West Chester Borough, West Goshen, East Goshen, Westtown and East Bradford, usually in a single visit. Our shop is on Pottstown Pike in West Goshen, so we are minutes from most West Chester addresses, and in most cases we can give you a price range over the phone before we come out. Estimates are free.
Ask about pricing when you call. A range for most jobs, often a firm number from photos.

Faucets. A drip or a stiff handle is usually a worn cartridge, and if the faucet is a quality brand with parts still available, a repair makes sense. When the finish is pitted, the body is corroded underneath, or the manufacturer no longer makes the cartridge, a new faucet is the better spend. We can supply a quality faucet or install one you’ve already picked out.
Garbage disposals. A jam or a tripped reset button is a quick fix. A disposal that leaks from the bottom, or that trips its breaker repeatedly, has usually failed internally and should be replaced. We provide InSinkErator disposals, typically 1/2 horsepower, and a typical swap where we supply the unit runs $500 to $625 including the unit, labor, and the trip. Current code calls for the disposal to plug into an outlet under the sink rather than be hardwired; a lot of the borough’s older kitchens don’t have one, and we can add it as part of the job. The handful of West Chester homes still on septic at the township edges will want a septic-safe model with an enzyme injection cartridge, which we can supply.
Sinks. Cracked basins, rusted-through strainers, and remodels are the usual reasons for a new kitchen or bathroom sink. In the borough’s rowhomes we also replace a lot of original wall-hung and pedestal sinks whose drains and shut-offs have simply worn out. We handle the drain and supply connections, the trap, and the disposal or dishwasher hookups so everything under the cabinet is done at once.
Most of this work is priced by the job, and in most cases we can give you a range over the phone. Call 610-701-3371 or use the form above.

At Golden Rule Plumbing, our name is our philosophy. We treat every Chester County homeowner the way we’d want to be treated, which means clear pricing, no membership fees, and no salesman pushing services you don’t need.
Ask us about pricing when you call. For most jobs we can give you a realistic range over the phone, and for many, a firm number from a photo or two. That kind of transparency is rare in the trades, and it’s what’s kept West Chester homeowners calling us since 2007.
A typical swap where we supply the unit runs $500 to $625, including an InSinkErator 1/2 horsepower disposal, labor, and the trip. If you already bought a disposal, you only pay for the installation. Adding an under-sink outlet or switching to a septic-safe model adds to that, and we’ll quote it before we start.
Yes. Plenty of our West Chester customers pick out their own fixtures. Send us the model when you call so we can confirm it fits your sink and countertop cutout, and we’ll quote the installation.
Often it’s the valve seat, not the cartridge, or the house water pressure is too high and wearing parts out early. Pressure well over 80 psi is common in parts of West Chester on public water, especially the lower streets of the borough. If we see signs of it, we’ll check the pressure and talk through a pressure reducing valve if needed.
Under current code, yes. A disposal should plug into an outlet under the sink rather than be hardwired. Many of the borough’s older kitchens don’t have one, and we can install the outlet as part of the disposal job.
Yes. We work with a number of West Chester landlords and property managers on faucet, sink and disposal calls. Give us the address and the tenant’s contact, and we can schedule with them directly and bill you.
No. Estimates are free, and in most cases we can give you a price range over the phone before we schedule.
